QUIZLET

Created By: Jared Weber

Introduction:

Quizlet is a study tool that can be implemented across many disciplines, and it is free! On quizlet, students can create flashcard sets or find flashcards made by others to use to study for their classes. You can even add pictures to flashcards, create learning games, and make quizzes. The flashcard sets can also be printed as a list or flashcards. There is also a blog where students and teachers can get help from others. In order to use the resource, a student or teacher must create a username and password in order to create an account.A use can also login through facebook. Once an account is created, the website keeps a record of all flashcards created, so a use can go back to review in the future. Flashcards can be shared or a user may wish to remain private.

Student Testimonial from Quizlet: "I began Quizlet when my French teacher told my class that "Quizlet was our new best friend." My friends starting inviting me so instead of writing one of my French vocab words, i tried Quizlet instead. It's more efficient and easier to type the vocabulary instead of writing it all. Thank you for making my studying easier, Quizlet!"

Incorporation in the Classroom:

Quizlet can be used in a variety of ways in all subjects. A teacher can prepare flashcard sets ahead of time for students to use to study. If used this way, every student would need to have an account, and the teacher would need to share the flashcard sets with the class group on the website. A teacher could also post these flashcard sets on a website for easier access. Another main usage of quizlet is a study tool for students. Students that struggle with learning basic terms can create flashcard sets to practice and learn meanings. Students can also create/join groups and discuss study material and also play scatter as well as memory games with the prepared flashcard sets. Furthermore, a teacher can require students to create flashcard sets on quizlet instead of writing on old fashioned notecards and then use the test mode to make customizable tests (short answers, matching, true/false and multiple choice).

Here is a sample flashcard set I made for my German 100 class!
